One of the caches I placed contained several items of SWAG, but the last visitor said in the log that it now only contains the log book and a couple of badges, and maybe needs a bit of maintenance.   The log book is in good condition and not damp etc. so, surely, it's not my responsibility to keep my caches topped up with SWAG, but for cachers to make sure that they replace items they take with something suitable as a swap.

What's your take on this?

Hi Mick
Personally, if I have gone to a cache and forgotten to take something to put in, I won't take anything out.  Often I put in and don't take out anyway.  However, I do go around my caches now and again and top them up if they are a bit sparse.
I'm wondering if yours has been muggled and the muggle is waiting for more goodies!
Just a thought.

Unfortunately when you load up caches with swag you never keep them the same in quality.
People always put less good stuff in than they take out. I have virtually given up taking stuff with me these days. so take nothing.
Sorry Mick its just the way it goes. Its up to you if you want to restock the cache but the same will happen again. As long as it is still there and the log book is in good shape that is all that really matters.
another golden rule I have is that I never spend more than 50p on anything I put into caches for swaps. Charity shops and boot sales are the best places for swag too.

Same as Dorrie, I only take if I have something to leave; seems to be the right way to do it.

BTW...got my 100th cache today..yippee!
