Stephen Hawking has died
« on: March 14, 2018, 06:05:47 AM »
Stephen Hawking has  died.  For me he was as close to a hero as I am likely to find.  From so many points-of-view, he was an incredible person. Our society is so inundated with hyperbole that an apt description of this would sound run-of-the mill. Besides his brilliant mind, his lively sense of humor and positive outlook on life never seemed to leave him - when most of humanity, in a similar situation, would be wrestling full-time with severe depression. He even appeared on the rather silly (but fun) sitcom The Big Band Theory on several occasions. What a remarkable person he was!

Concur totally.
His books and countless TV and radio appearances were very much part of the media fabric that many of us I grew up with.
For any that don't know, his last radio appearance was in the latest version of Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy.

I am glad he appeals to others the way he did to me.  And, btw, I might have guessed that it'd be you two!  Cheers.

Appealed to me too, but I was too lazy to reply. Sorry.  :-\
